DIY Reed Diffuser

I recently discovered essential oils and I’ve been having fun using them for all sorts of different things. My favorite way to use them though, is for making my home smell great. Today I’m going to show how easy it is to make a Reed Diffuser, that’ll leave your home smelling amazing.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1 Dark Colored Glass bottle w/ a small opening

1 Teaspoon of Vodka or 90% Rubbing Alcohol

Sunflower Oil, Almond Oil, or Coconut Oil

1 Pack of Reeds

1-3 Young Living Essential Oils (About Young Living )

IMG_0267IMG_0268First you’ll want to add the sunflower oil (carrier oil) to your container. I filled my glass bottle about 1/3 of the way but it will vary depending on the size of the bottle you use.

Add 30 drops of essential oils to the glass bottle.(You can always add less or more if you want) I decided to use the Y.L. Lemon oil for mine because it smells super clean and fresh. Then you’ll give your bottle a little swirl to mix everything and add your reeds. ( The more reeds, the more scent you’ll get but the faster the mixture will run out too) After 24 hours flip your reeds, this ensures that they’ll be well saturated. The mixture does have the tendency of separate, so make sure you give the bottle a little swirl about once a week.
